Discover Bali's nature and temples!

Early in the morning we drive to the Tanah Lot sea temple — at this time of day the temple is not yet crowded with tourists. The Hindu temple stands on the south-west coast on a rocky outcrop in the sea, close to the shore. Here the Balinese ask for protection from evil demons. Next we drive to the Jatiluwih rice terraces. Here you can enjoy the beautiful nature with its artfully laid-out rice terraces and learn about the irrigation cooperative of the Balinese rice farmers. Water from the volcanic mountains is carried from one terrace to the next through a complex irrigation system. We continue to the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple, which lies on Lake Bratan. It is an important water temple with holy water from the volcanic lake and was built in 1663. The holy Lake Bratan is an important source of irrigation in central Bali. The Balinese believe the lake's water has healing powers. After lunch we drive to the Munduk waterfall. After a 15-minute walk you reach the waterfall, about 35 m high, in the middle of tropical greenery surrounded by spice plantations.
